Ranomafana National Park

Mystical rainforest trails, rare lemurs, and steaming hot springs in Madagascar’s highlands

🌿 Park Overview

Located in Madagascar’s southeastern highlands, Ranomafana National Park is one of the country’s most iconic and ecologically important reserves. Covering more than 41,000 hectares of lush montane rainforest, the park is part of the UNESCO-listed Rainforests of the Atsinanana and plays a key role in protecting some of the island’s most endangered species.

Ranomafana—meaning “hot water” in Malagasy—is named after the thermal springs found in the area. Beyond the relaxing baths, the park is a haven for hikers, wildlife lovers, and botanists.
